17th of July 2012 Mainau Island

The Mainau Island is in the Lake Constance about 80km from Ellhofen. For this distance we need a two hours drive partly because we have to use a ferry to get from Meersburg to Constance.

The weather is very changeable today, but at Lake Constance the cloudiness decreases and so we have longer sunny spells while visiting the Mainau Island.

It takes some hours to explore the island with its wonderful gardens, especially the palm garden, the butterfly house, the baroque palace ... .
