24th of July 2012 Eistobel

Our personal travel guides Helga and Alois today takes us to the Eistobel, a gorge between the villages Maierhöfen and Grünenbach. The stream Oberer Argen is flowing  through this gorge. The distance between Eistobel and Tobelmill is about 16km, so it's only a 20 minutes ride.

The entrance fee is only 1,50€ and is well invested, because for the maintanance and care of the numerous hiking paths a lot of money is needed. They say, the Eistobel would look better in winter as in summer time, because in winter you can see bizarre ice sculptures. But in winter you should have special equipment and a good cndition to walk through the gorge
